Introduction to Opus Plasma

Skincare has become an increasingly important factor in many people’s day-to-day activities, but there’s also so much saturation in the market that it can be difficult, and at times frustrating, trying to decide which one is best for you. While there are so many options available for both surgical and non-surgical approaches to more youthful-looking skin, not everyone needs a drastic change from a Facelift but may be looking for something more permanent than say BOTOX or Dermal Fillers. At Elite Medicine, we strive to provide our patients with the best skin resurfacing results in the Cincinnati area with Opus Plasma. To learn more about this treatment, please keep reading below!

What Is Opus Plasma?

Opus Plasma is a facial skin rejuvenation treatment that uses plasma energy to treat signs of visible aging, and scarring, and encourage the growth of healthier, more vibrant skin. It uses fractional plasma technology, which is highly regarded as the next stage in skin resurfacing as it offers highly versatile skin treatment options. The Opus Plasma has metal pins that allow the handheld device to operate at a higher frequency than other lasers, which causes it to react to pressure changes in the air when placed close to the skin. The energy delivered from this reaction creates plasma which triggers skin ablation. The energy can be adjusted by the technician to meet the desired needs and skin type of each patient.

Who are the Best Candidates for Opus Plasma?

What’s the First Step?

The first step in getting Opus Plasma skin resurfacing in Cincinnati is to schedule your consultation at Elite Medicine. When you come into our boutique MedSpa, you will meet with either Dr. Shelli Ridge or one of our highly-trained laser technicians. You will be able to discuss your goals for this treatment, ask questions regarding the process, and discuss your medical history. After collecting the information needed, a treatment plan is created specifically for you. Once this has been done, you can receive your first session immediately afterward, or if you need to, our Patient Coordinator can help you schedule a better day and time.

What to Expect on the Day of Opus Plasma

When you’re ready for your treatment, we will have you make yourself comfortable on our reclining chair. A topical ointment will be applied to your treated area to ensure a painless procedure. Dr. Ridge or the technician will use the handheld device and gently run it over the troubled areas of your skin. You may feel a slight rubber band snap during the process, but other than that, there should be minimal discomfort. Once finished, a protective balm will be applied to your skin to help seal over and add additional protection to your skin.

Your Opus Plasma treatment will last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the targeted surface area.

Opus Plasma Recovery

After your procedure, you can return to normal routine however you will experience some slight swelling and redness for the next day or so. You should avoid any UV exposure for the next few days because your skin will be hyper-sensitive, so if you do need to go outside, we strongly recommend wearing quality sunscreen. We also encourage you to avoid using abrasive products such as retinol or hydroquinone for a few weeks following your treatment. If you stay vigilant in protecting your skin during your initial recovery, you will be able to enjoy the results for years to come.

How Much Does Opus Plasma Cost in Cincinnati?

The cost of Opus Plasma in Cincinnati will vary depending on the surface area being treated and the number of sessions you’ll require, among other factors. The best way to find out how much this treatment will be for you is to come in for your consultation and have a treatment plan created.
