If you are in the Cincinnati area and looking to get fuller, plumper lips, the first step is to contact our office and get a consultation with one of our technicians. During this appointment, you can address any concerns you have with the treatment, ask all of your questions, and discuss your beauty goals. Your technician will also be able to examine your lips and provide you with a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
On the day of your lip augmentation, you will be able to come straight into our boutique MedSpa for your injections. You will have a topical numbing agent applied to ease any discomfort during the treatment, or even nerve blocking injections administered to completely numb your lips, depending on what is discussed during your consultation. The nerve blocker is very similar to what you might receive when you go to the dentist. There is also the option of simply applying ice to your lips to help numb them, as well as potentially help with bruising or swelling.
Once your lips are numbed and you are comfortable, your technician will carefully mark the areas that will be injected, and then use very fine needles to inject the HA into your lips.
Following your treatment, you can expect some swelling in your lips, and also notice some small red spots where the needles were injected into your lips. There may also be some slight bruising around the lips, which should only last about a week. It may be a little difficult to smile the first day or so because of the bruising and soreness, but this is completely normal. Many patients have expressed that their lips feel different after the procedure due to the presence of the filler.
We recommend that you avoid pursing your lips for about two days, which does mean you should avoid using a straw when drinking fluids.
