Once you come in for your consultation and your skin is evaluated, we will be able to provide you with a more accurate timeline.

How long until I see results?

You may begin to notice results after a few days of your treatment, but it takes between four and six weeks for your collagen to start producing real results. Depending on why you are getting Microneedling performed, you may need to have repeat treatments before seeing the final results.

Can I combine Microneedling with other procedures?

You bet! Microneedling is a minimally-invasive treatment that is sometimes referred to as collagen induction therapy (CIT). The treatment involves puncturing the skin repeatedly with tiny, sterile needles as a way to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, more volumized skin and a reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring.

What’s the First Step?

The first step in getting Microneedling in Cincinnati is to schedule a consultation at Elite Medicine. When you come into our boutique MedSpa, you will be able to meet with Dr. Ridge or a certified member, of our Aesthetic team. During this time, you will be able to express your desires for the treatment, ask any questions you might have, and have your skin evaluated. You will also be asked a few questions regarding your medical history to prevent any unnecessary risks during or after your treatment. We always request that you be as open and honest as possible when discussing your medical history, we are very discreet and confidential, and we only ask these questions for your health and safety.

Once all of the information needed is collected, a treatment plan will be made for you. If you agree with this plan, you can get your microneedling procedure performed immediately afterward, or you can schedule a better day and time with our Patient Coordinator.

What to Expect on the Day of Microneedling?

When you come into Elite Medicine for your Microneedling treatment, we will first have you get comfortable on our reclining chair. While not every patient requests it, we can apply a topical numbing cream that will make your experience more tolerable. The Aesthetician will then take the handheld SkinPen device and move it across your skin, making roughly 1mm penetrations into your skin with very tiny needles. After your treatment, you may be offered an ice pack to keep some of the swelling or bruising to a minimum.

Depending on the location and surface area of your treatment, you can expect your session to last around an hour.

Microneedling Recovery

After your treatment, you will be able to return to your normal routine. Please keep in mind that your skin will most likely still be red and slightly swollen for at least the first few hours but may last for a few days. As your body begins to produce more collagen and elastin over the next few weeks, you should be able to notice a healthier glow and more firm, volumized skin.
