BOTOX Recovery
After your treatment, you may experience some redness, minor bruising, or irritation around the injection sites for about 12 – 24 hours. In some cases, some more serious side effects include dizziness, difficulty swallowing, double vision, or drooping/ swollen eyelids. You will be able to feel your face after the injection as neuromuscular toxins only paralyze motor nerve communication, not sensory nerves, meaning your skin will not go numb in that area.
You should avoid touching the areas of injection because it can cause the fluid to migrate to another side, creating an undesirable effect like an eyelid droop. You should be able to resume wearing makeup the next day as you will want to avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the injection site for the first 24 hours.
You will be able to notice changes in your face about two to four days after the injection, but the full results will take about 8 – 10 days. While every patient will have a different experience, you should be able to enjoy the results for about four to six months. As your body naturally absorbs the toxin over time, you will need a touch-up if you enjoyed the appearance BOTOX has given you.
